The University Club of Milwaukee is the City’s premier private club, with nearly 500 members who represent all business sectors, generations and fields of expertise, yet are united by a common commitment to our City and region and a lifelong pursuit of personal and professional excellence. We are welcoming of all ages, races, cultures and points of view, and count among our membership prominent CEOs, business executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, academics, philanthropists and up-and coming professionals.

The University Club offers members insider access to some of the most fun, engaging and lively aspects of our great City and at other clubs worldwide. Reciprocal benefits are available at more than 300 private clubs worldwide, including the Milwaukee Yacht Club.

Our landmark, lakefront Club home is unlike any other in Milwaukee, providing members and their guests with a vibrant yet private environment to network, socialize and do business with those who share their ideals, values and commitment to improving our community. Located at the corner of Wells and Prospect on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, the University Club of Milwaukee boasts beautiful, panoramic views of the lake.

Completed in 1928, the five-story Club was designed by John Russell Pope, the renowned American architect whose firm is widely-known for designing the National Archives and Records Administration building and the Jefferson Memorial. More than an architectural landmark, the University Club has been a cornerstone of the careers of Milwaukee’s best and brightest for the past century.


Shuttle Service via the Club Car within a three-mile radius of the Club and to Mitchell Airport and Miller Park Baseball Stadium is available to all members and guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Our members may dine at the Milwaukee Yacht Club.

The Club also offers behind the scenes access to key cultural venues, such as the Milwaukee Ballet, Renaissance Theatreworks, Milwaukee Art Museum and Milwaukee Film Festival.

The University Club of Milwaukee looks forward to welcoming Milwaukee’s best and brightest as new members. From business leaders to philanthropists to entrepreneurs, individuals join the University Club to interact with Milwaukee’s finest in a private, engaging setting. Please see below for Club admission requirements. Prospective members should contact the front desk at  (414) 271-2222.

Prior to the time of application for membership, the prospective member will have received a degree from a recognized university, college or professional school. An individual who has not received a degree, but who in the judgment of the Board of Directors, possesses educational qualifications substantially equivalent or has attained a position of distinction in the Greater Milwaukee area is also eligible to apply.

Prospective members should list two current University Club members as Proposer and Seconder.  If an individual does not have a Proposer and/or Seconder, the Membership Director will assist you in completing this process.

Applications for membership will be reviewed by the Board of Directors at the next regular Board meeting, held the third Thursday of the month.  Applications must be received by the Tuesday prior to that meeting. Signed applications should be submitted to the front desk.
